Company Description

SMI was established in 1987 the first Belgian Company manufacturing surgical sutures, since when it has grown rapidly, and today is recognised as a world-wide supplier of surgical sutures. The production plant is situated in Huenningen in the east of Belgium, near to the point where the border of Belgium, Germany and LuxembSMI AGg meet.

HIGHEST QUALITY AND SECURITY

SMI has always applied international standards of quality like ISO 9001 and EN 13485 as well as Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP)procedures. All materials used, as well as finished products are subject to all aspects of quality control by a dedicated team headed by an industrial pharmacist. Quality and security of surgical sutures are thus assured and guaranteed. Furthermore, we have the CE mark on our products, which simplifies the launch on the market.
WORLD-WIDE RECOGNITION
Exports to 70 different countries constitute 80 % of the turnover of SMI. This performance has been recognised by the Royal Export Award 2000 of the BFTB(Belgian Foreign Trade Board).
