Prima Factory was founded in 1996 located on the fifth industrial zone on the fifth industrial zone “Sadat City” in the middle of Cairo-Alexandria desert road. The foundation stone of Ceramica Prima in Egypt was laid down in April, 1995. Construction work started in May 1996 and the soft operation took place in August 1997. In the same year, Ceramica Prima was the first factory in Middle East & Africa using the “double fire “Technology in production process this technology consists of burning each layer of the tile separately. Early in 1998 Ceramic Prima began working at full capacity. In August 1998 the company management gave the go-ahead to expansion work to satisfy the increasing demands locally and internationally. “Double Firing Technology” is a manufacturing technique which depends on firing each tile as a body separately before firing it covered by the glaze and colors layers. This technique avoids all defects arising from single firing technology as surface, sizes and tonality defects. That guaranties getting highest quality tiles with the best technical specifications.
