Iridian Spectral Technologies is a privately owned Canadian Corporation providing spectral solutions for customers using its highly advanced proprietary thin film technology. The design and deposition process control software, PrecisionSpectrum at IST, and the optical characterization and filter processing technology, PrecisionScan at IST, give competitive advantages in the manufacture of thin film optical components.

Applications of the technology include a wide range of telecommunication and Bio-Medical filters but the company also designs and manufactures custom thin film filters for other areas of application. Iridians approach is to work closely with its customers from the early stage of a products life in order to ensure that the most cost effective solutions are found.

Iridian was founded in 1998 and has invested heavily in development in order to provide advanced technology at very competitive prices. A high degree of automation ensures high quality, low cost products.

During the period October 2000-April 2002, the company was a wholly owned subsidiary of JDS Uniphase. HoIridian Spectral Technologiesver, in April 2002 a management group bought back control of the company and it is now a completely independent company.
