Profile of Ludlow Jute MillsLudlow Jute Mills was originally owned by Ludlow Jute Co. Ltd.( A group of Ludlow Corp. Inc, U.S.A.)and established in the year 1921 near Calcutta, and in 1977 M/S Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd. ( Renowned Business House of Calcutta), purchased the jute mill and in 1985 merged it with it's subsidiary company ,"Aekta ltd." It employs about 3500 workmen per day, at present, in the Mill.Product Profile--- Ludlow Jute Mills are the pioneer in producing various products in the Indian Jute industry like, Carpet Backing Cloth, Jute Ludlow Jute Millbbing, Scrim Cloth, Jute Yarn for various uses, Special Blended Fabric, Soil Saver etc., with the help of various modernization activities, and a thrust on diversification of products.--- Ludlow Jute Mill is considered to be one of the most enterprising and modernized unit in India, about 45% of it's products are being exported throughout the world. Due to continuous thrust on Quality, Ludlow Products are considered premium products both in the Domestic (India) and International markets. The followings are "Ludlow's" main products : --- Special jute Yarn used in the Carpet Industry, Electrical Industry, Explosive industry, Gardening purposes --- Special Hessian Bags used for various purposes, apart from packing Food Grade Jute Products--- Both Traditional Hessian and Sacking.--- Blended Fabrics, like, Jute/Cotton, Jute/Rayon, Jute/Viscose, Jute/Silk, Jute/Wool etc.--- Jute Webbing with sizes from 2" to 4" in width for both New Furniture and/or repairing of Furniture --- Odorless Cloth for packing Rice and Tea--- Hydro Carbon Free Jute Bags (Food grade jute bags) used for Hazel Nuts, Coffee, Cocoa etc.--- Special Jute Blend Yarn, where Core can be Jute Yarn and any other fiber, wrapped around.--- Polished Yarn xxxxx coating with P.V.A. ( Ploy vinyl Acetylene) and it can produce Yarn in Bowl Form as well.--- Special Scrim Cloth of 58 gms / xxxxx in weight, with Leno construction, where Yarns are interwoven, which they do not come out, inspite of being very low density fabric.--- Hessian Scrim for Horticulture purpose both in Roll Form and Square Sheets, to protect the plant and trees.--- Roof felt Scrim, used in roof felt--- Have facilities of producing Bleached/Dyed fabric with special attributes like, Rot Proofing, Softening of Cloth, Dehired Cloth, making Square Sheets etc.Ludlow Jute Mills is known for it's quality products throughout the world and is always eager and prepared to take challenges for producing special varieties of products, as required by the customers.Production Capacity--- Ludlow Jute mills has the capacity of producing 140 MT of Jute products consisting of Jute Yarn and various other Fabrics, as explained above.--- It has 131 Spinning Frames, including 8 (4 x 2) Bollellie Ring Spinning Frames and 22 Apron Draft Spinning Frames.--- Capable of producing highly Specialised Jute Yarn used world-wide by carpet industry and in other diversified usages.--- Has a very special Weaving Unit, consisting of 84 Sulzer Type STB Looms consisting of 72 Looms 330 Cms each and 12 Looms of 220 Cms each. These Looms are capable of producing Special Fabrics made of Jute and/or Jute Blended and the products woven on such looms are being preferred by the customers worldwide for their special use.--- Has 350 Hessian Looms of different sizes ranging from 46.5" (118 Cms) to 90" (229 Cms) and 360 Sacking Looms consisting of sizes ranging from 32"(81 Cms) to 37.5" (95 Cms).--- Capable of manufacturing almost all widths and qualities of Fabrics on its versatile looms.ISO CertificateLudlow Jute Mills has the honour to be the first Jute mill in India and/or abroad to be recognized as ISO 9002 Company for all its products in 1994. Now, it has obtained ISO 9001-2000 Certificate valid till Aug, 2008 in recognition of its continued maintenance of quality standard.
