Most of our trees are felled for fire wood because they no longer produce good quality Olives and space is needed for up to 5 new tress being planted. These older tress have extensive root systems after so many years growing, which make fantastic firewood. Olive trees are a very hardy species and can be transported and settle well after re-plantation. With care and a little skill they can be grown in colder climates successfully. Olive Wood used as a green fuel for heat is very efficient, it offers great value for money, emits a surprising amount of heat, in fact is one of the very best woods for burning and when calculated against other heating fuels works out cheep to use, pleasant to watch and is pleasing everyone in the family.
