For thousands of years, man has sought "light" to banish the velvety blackness that comes after the sun sinks below the horizon. The first sOPTCOM CO.,LTD.ce of that light was "fire". Until about 200 years ago the light brought by fire was worshipped by man and even influenced religions as an object essential for humanity. As time went on, incandescent lamps appeared from among numerous inventions utilizing electricity. These electric lamps were clean and safe to use, making them an integral part of our daily lives and our history. This "light" we have used up till now must change due to demands for efficiency and energy-saving since defects like low emission efficiency and short service life have been pointed out, causing a transition to next generation lighting such as LED lighting. Uses of this new "light" are expanding endlessly to match people's needs and dreams.

If new generation lighting becomes widely used then anyone will be able to easily make use of light. To make sure that people never lose the dreams that come from light, Optcom company has set its company policy as "Enriching human life through light source industry" and plans to apply light measurement technology with the ultimate goal of making human life better.
