The Infant Formula Act mandates that all infant formulas manufactured in the United States adhere to the same strict FDA nutritional guidelines. Yet until recently, high-profile national brand companies still had a stranglehold on the marketplace.
That's where PBM stepped in. In the late 1990's, PBM Products, LLC, became the first company to introduce private-label, or store-brand, infant formulas to the United States.
Suddenly parents could buy formulas of equal nutritional value to national brands and save up to $600 a year in the process.
