Afrikan Bazaar started as an idea � how to support small-scale Kenyan crafters market craftwork that can earn them a decent living and become a sustainable business venture, while also benefiting conservation projects. Many talented artists live adjacent to wildlife areas, thus this project focuses on developing new and original ideas with the theme of wildlife and coexistence. The wild life researchers have projects throughout Kenya that involve local communities or individuals in crafts making. They decided to start this business to buy and market crafts from Kenyan craftsmen and women, thus supporting local communities. Sales profits benefit conservation research, community development and education initiatives. Today, Afrikan Bazaar helps to support 12 vendors who offer a diverse array of uniquely Kenyan crafts. All of Afrikan Bazaar vendors can attest to the positive role wildlife conservation can have in uplifting local livelihoods.
