Bashar Assaf is a Beirut-based Lebanese fashion designer. Hisgarments tend to accentuate the female body with sophisticated yetdemure silhouettes, solid colors and clean cuts. Bashar Assaf wasborn and raised in Jeddah, KSA. He moved to Beirut to join Esmodand graduated in 2011. Soon after completing his studies, he beganto work as a designer and a stylist for an array of clients in theAdvertising and Entertainment industries, both in Lebanon and SaudiArabia. In December 2012, he was chosen as one of StarchFoundations designers where he produced 3 collections:Metamorphism, Open-Heart and Hallucinations. The latter two Bashar Assaf s.a.r.lreshowcased at Fashion Forward in Dubai. He was also nominated byElle Style Awards for Best Upcoming Fashion Designer in the MiddleEast that year. Bashar Assaf has successfully launched threecollections outside of Starchs umbrella: Climax, Ethereal and SkinDeep, all of which were showcased at Fashion Forward in Dubai.Menswear made a recurring appearance in these collections and isnow part of the brands identity. Since then, Bashars work led toLebanons representation for the International Woolmark Prize,participation in a Wallpaper Magazine exhibition, a collectionlaunched in Paris, and an award-winning exhibition at SomersetHouse.
