Chanmar's Humble Mushroom is secretly tucked away in the famous Waterberg region in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. It has always been a life dream of Marietjie Kruger to own her own mushroom farm. She realized this dream when she established Chanmar's Humble Mushrootm in 2003 and, what started out as a small scale operation, is today a fully-fledged farming industry with tChanmar Mushroomslve growth rooms, each ranging from 60 to 100 square meters and using 12 tonnes of compost per week. Chanmar also embarked on a journey whereby mushrooms are preserved into a delicacy to be served as a snack or light refreshment. Available in three flavours – Spicy Masala, Mustard & Garlic and Sweet & Sour – this pickled version has become very popular and currently distributed via 85 outlets within Limpopo.
