Company Description

Sony's presence in Hong Kong can be traced to 1959 when the company started a transistor radio assembly facility in Hong Kong through a local entity. This marked an important chapter in Sony history as this is Sony's first production facility abroad. In November 1962, Sony Corporation established Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited (Sony Hong Kong) as the third overseas company to oversee liaison activities in the Asia Pacific region.


Since 1 April 2009, the company has changed the Chinese trade name from ?Sony Hong Kong Limited ? to Sony Hong Kong in accordance with Sony?s brand guideline.

Sony Hong Kong is going to mark its 50th Anniversary on 23 November, 2012. A logo is specially designed and will be used by the Company in FY12 for celebrating the 50th anniversary.
