Breeches
Breeches is double plural known since c. 1205, from Old English (and before Old French) brec or breoc, which was already pl.of broc "garments for legs and trunk," from the Proto-Germanic root brokiz. At first in indicated a cloth worn as underwear by men women; by the Middel Ages breeches meant "drawers" or "underpants".
In the later 16th century, breeches began to replace hose as the general English term for lower outer garment, a usage that remained standard until knee-length breeches were replaced for everyday wear by long pantaloons or trouser specially for horse riders.

Jodhpurs
jodhpurs are tight fitting trousers with an extra material layer in the calf, traditionally used in horse ridding throughout the UK and Europe. Often they have a "pipe" down the outside leg, and extra padding on the back. traditionally they are white or cream in color, but now come in a variety of colors. Do not confuse jodhpurs with riding breeches, the later being flared around the calf.
