Hickory Island Tropical Fish Farm Sell High Quality Cichlids and Koi. We will not be under sold. These are hand fed and well cared for. In February 2007 opportunity knocked once again as a failing Yankeetown fish farm went to auction and the Hickory Island team emerged the highest bidder. The plan: to raise, wholesale and retail fresh water tropical Cichlids and Koi and to hand raise catfish for the restaurant and local markets. It has taken over two years of patience and hard work, but Hickory Island Tropical Fish Farm should be opening soon. Mr. Tate enjoys the vibrant colors of the cichlids (colors that rival any saltwater tropical fish) and the mythical history of these aquatic warriors.
