The Korean beauty and cosmetic industry is a new growth engine under rapid growth thanks to the improved income level and new consumption trends.
However, despite such quantitative growth, the industry's competitiveness is poor due to the petty industrial structure, inadequate convergence systems between related industries, lack of differentiated job training systems for beauty and cosmetic professionals, and incongruity with global systems.

Thus the Korea Beauty Industry Development Institute has conducted a variety of projects based on the practical experiences in the beauty and cosmetic industry accumulated for many decades.

We intend to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the Korean beauty and cosmetic industry by developing optimized business models and applying them to the actual business, such as developing strategies to foster the Korean and global beauty and cosmetic industry, fostering global beauty and cosmetic professionals, expanding the infrastructure of the Korean beauty and cosmetic industry, sending Korean beauty and cosmetic professionals overseas, and supporting distribution and marketing for beauty and cosmetic items.
Based on such competitiveness, the Korea Beauty Industry Development Institute is expected to become the hub of the global beauty and cosmetic industry.

Moreover, we aim to accelerate industrial convergence, enhance global competitiveness and build a convergence system of the beauty and cosmetic industry by establishing the (tentatively named) International Beauty and Cosmetic Convergence Association.

We, the Korea Beauty Industry Development Institute, will consider 2014 to be the year for reform and promise to make our utmost efforts for our values to come through as the years flow on.
