Mogale Alloys is a Ferroalloy operation in the Mogale Alloyst Rand, in Gauteng South Africa. Mogale Alloys was formed in 2003 by a consortium of investors composed of PGR Investments (25% ) ; Mintek (25% ) ; Atholl (20% ) ; Sebeso Beneficiation (20% ) and employee trust (10% ) . The main objective of the plant is to produce Charge chrome, Silico Managanese and process electric arc dust from the stainless steel industry. The plant composes of three furnaces, one 40 MVA DC plasma Arc furnace and two 20MVA submerged arc furnaces. The two submerged arc furnaces are currently producing Silico-Manganese Alloy, whilst the DC furnace swings between charge chrome and SSA depending on the customer requirements.
