Company Description

Prokritee is created by Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Bangladesh (a North American non-government development organization) in 2001 to independently manage the 8 job creation projects, set up by MCC in different parts of Bangladesh, with its own management and organized structure. Prokritee plays a very vital role in development and promotion of Bangladeshi handicrafts. By creating sustainable market for innovative and trendy products through a domestic outlet ?SProkriteece? and exports to several countries. Prokritee supports and ensures the livelihoods of more than one thousand rural artisans, mainly women.

Prokritee artisans are producing Hand Made Paper (made by jute, silk, hemp, cotton wastes, pineapple leaves, water hyacinth & other natural fibers) and paper products like greeting cards, photo albums, decorated cards, wrapping paper, note pads, gift boxes etc. In addition to that a variety of Jute bags, Twine products, Keya and Palm leaf products like baskets, napkin rings, pencil holder, star streamer/garlands, Grass baskets of various shape and sizes, Terracotta, Candles and Christmas decorations.
