Rand York Minerals (Pty) Ltd exclusively processes and markets foundry chromite sand for the Glencore Xstrata Group, sRand York Minerals (Pta) Ltdced from various suppliers in Southern Africa. All material is mined in the heart of the Bush veld Complex, the principal chromite deposit in South Africa.

Our beneficiation plant represents the latest in spiral and heavy medium technology, producing quality foundry chromite sand. All material is washed and processed under ISO9000/2 standards or the equivalent of these standards. Rand York Minerals supplies Foundry, Chemical and Metallurgical grade Chrome ore, packed either as dried and bagged, or wet bulk.

AFS45-50 A Grade Foundry Sand (Standard 46% min Cr203, 1% Max Si02, 1.5:1 Chrome Iron Ratio, AFS45-50)
AFS40-45 A Grade Foundry Sand (Standard 46% min Cr203, 1% Max Si02, 1.5:1 Chrome Iron Ratio, AFS40-45)
AFS45-60 B Grade Foundry Sand (Standard 46% min Cr203, 1.2% Max Si02, 1.5:1 Chrome Iron Ratio, AFS is NOT homogenous and inconsistent as such sold as AFS45-60)
AFS50-55 B Grade Foundry Sand (Standard 45% min Cr203, 1% Max Si02, 1.4:1 Chrome Iron Ratio, current AFS50-55, AFS will shortly be in the Region of AFS50-55)
AFS45-55 B Grade Foundry Sand (Standard 45% min Cr203, 1% Max Si02, 1.4:1 Chrome Iron Ratio, current AFS50-55, AFS will shortly be in the Region of AFS45-50)
Chemical Grade (44.5% Min Cr203, 1.28% Max Si02 and 1.4:1 Chrome Iron ratio)
