Company Description

V C Saunders Engineering Ltd parent company V C Saunders Limited was formed in 1954 by Victor Cleveland Saunders (1925-2010) and began trading as a car accessory wholesaler from a shop in Batter-sea Park Road, South West London.

A few years later in 1957 V C Saunders Engineering Limited was established to manufacture car accessories in Batter sea. The first products included kick down door stays, chromium plated exhaust trims, exhaust deflectors, mini door handles and car flagstaffs, including special versions for the Royal cars.

The company expanded rapidly and moved in 1963 to larger premises in Dry burgh Road, London. In 1965 Vic Saunders invented the Saunders Dog Guard which became an extremely successful product and has been exported all over the world. It is still one of our major product lines today.

By 1981 the company had again out grown its works and moved to its current location in Wimbledon. Saunders also began to make a range of commercial roof racks during the 1980s and in 1992 took over an established roof rack manufacturer. The range of roof racks and accessories has since been developed and constantly improved making it one of the leading brands on the market today.

Saunders have always upheld the highest quality standards in the manufacture of its products, a policy set for the company right from the beginning by Vic Saunders.

The majority of staff who work for the company today have been with Saunders for a great number of years and many have been with the company for over 36 years, including Victors daughter, owner and Managing Director, Ann Saunders.
