W. H. Cooke & Co., Inc. was founded in 1963 by Wayne H. CookeSr. The company began as an industrial instrument repair houseoperating out of a modest row home located at 1440 S. CharlesStreet in Baltimore, Maryland about a mile from Ft. McHenry, thebirthplace of WH Cooke & Co., Inc National Anthem. Our originalname "Industrial Instrument Repair Co." was changed to W.H. Cooke & Co., Inc. in 1969.The main focus of the company shifted from service to sales as weacquired product lines as a Representative for Manufacturers ofinstrumentation and related products.In 1975, Mr. Cooke Sr. moved the business to Finksburg, Marylandand began manufacturing thermocouples and RTDs, while the rep /distributor part of the business continued to grow. In 1979, theinstrument repair business was sold and in January, 2006 we movedto our current facility at 6868 York Rd. (Rt. 116 East) in Hanover,Pennsylvania just 5 miles from the Mason-Dixon Line. Hanover islocated mid way between Gettysburg and York, Pennsylvania in thesouth central part of the state.Today, W. H. Cooke & Co. continues to operate as aManufacturer's Rep / Distributor and a Manufacturer of temperaturesensors and specialty control systems. As a regionalrepresentative, we cover Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington,DC. Delaware and parts of Virginia and West Virginia. Ourtemperature sensors and control systems are marketed to OEMs,distributors and users nationwide. A small portion of our productsare exported to Canada, Mexico and South America.In August of 2010 we purchased Stock Controls, Inc. an industrialcontrols distributor since the 1930's out of Wayne, Pennsylvania(near Philadelphia). The office was closed and an extensiveinventory of controls, recorders, charts and pens was moved to ourplant on York Road in Hanover.In November of 2011 we started up a 42 KW, 182-panel solar PV(photovoltaic) power system that has taken us off the grid.In March 2012 W. H. Cooke & Co. added a machineshop operation that allows us to provide for our own in houserequirements and offer machine shop services and machine buildingservices to our customers.
