Company Description

ABCO Group group of three companies (ABCO GROUP), our company was first established in 1972 as a trading company then became a manufacturer of plastic packaging for motor oils and liquid detergents on 1979. Following the establishment of a firm base of operation, in 1985 it was decided to add a second line of operation allied to the base operation. A further company and production unit was set up to produce liquid filled products primarily Bleach and Household detergents for the growing retail market. The two companies merged under one roof in 1991 centred at a new location in an industrial development zone which offers a ten year tax holiday. During the period a range of Car Care products were added to the range of products as well as the ability to produce speciality Closures (Caps) and the company moved into the area of third party filling. Following a period of steady and continued growth, the management decided in 2002 that the previous 10.000 square meter unit would be dedicated to exclusively for the blow moulding operations whilst the other sectors of the business would be moved into two separate factories. Alexandria Detergents and Chemicals Company ADCO were established in 2002 as a new separate company dedicated for manufacturing detergents, car care products and private label (contract manufacturing). In the detergents field, ADCO produces, markets, and distributes its own brands of household cleaning products. The company is the market leader in Egypt in the all purpose liquid detergent (65 % of the market) and in the bleach (45 % of the market) categories.
