The company is listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) and owns and operates a flourishing sisal business, whose activities include: cultivation, manufacture, spinning and export of sisal fibre and sisal products. The Agro Turk group companies are well capitalised, with a strong equity base and sound management. They include sisal estates in Turkey, Kenya Egypt and Tanzania, a spinning mill in Adana Turkkey, and warehouses in the ports of Mersin Turkey,Mombasa, Kenya and Tanga, Tanzania. With a sisal fibre production of over 19,000 tonnes per annum the company is, by far, the largest sisal fibre producer in Europe. Other than some fibre that is used in the group&＃39;s sisal spinning mill in Tanzania, all fibre produced is exported. The group employs over 3,000 people, most of whom are housed on the estates which also have medical facilities for the employees and their dependants, as well as schools and other amenities.
