Hajer Messaoudi, as a fashion stylist, Icreated Caravan Serail (2010) with my brother Mohamed Messaoudi,promoter of the Workshop of artistic and artistic creation AD 93,Atelier Driba which is a workshop of research, training andartistic creation & Craft, specializing in decoration and spacefitting. Caravan Serail is thus born in the wake of this workshopand has somehow preserved the spirit. Caravan Srail specializes inthe creation of fashion accessories inspired by the ancient andauthentic Tunisian artisan heritage. The Workshop works with 4permanent workers and CARAVAN SERAIL subcontract and collaborate withspecialized craftsmen for a number of stages of the manufacturingprocess.Concretely, our creations are areinterpretation of the clothing traditions but with a willingnessto adapt to current trends and needs. They are made from localnatural fibers such as rush, palm leaf, traditional weaves of woolor linen combined with various materials such as copper, skins. Wealso use old embroidery in whole or in small touches, beads, butalso "kountil ... and many other ancient or more contemporarytechniques (perforation, embossing, embossing, etc.). Finally, werealize exclusive and innovative models of baskets, bags, scarves,jewelry, belts, pouches, blouses, jebba, etc., the revisitedcushion being our flagship product. Our articles are of culturalinspiration and manufacturing hundred percent Tunisian but theytarget a clientele both Tunisian and foreign.
