Company Description

Chesterton Light Engineering was founded in 1973 to produce high precision machined components.

The company was acquired by its present owners in 1989 and has steadily expanded its customer base ever since. In 1995 the Company outgrew its original premises in Bottisham and moved to a modern factory in BurChesterton Light Engineering Ltdll. In 2001 the move was made to its present site in Newmarket. This significantly increased the floor area and allowed for further expansion.

During the last few years significant investment has been made in CNC machines tools which has increased capacity and reduced lead times. The Company specializes in CNC precision machining in a wide variety of materials, CNC sheet metal work and fabrication also design and rapid prototyping.

CNC TURNING

With the ability to turn 300mm diameter in a chuck and a capacity of 65mm through the bar-feed spindle Chesterton Light Engineering can cater for most turning jobs. With all our turning centres linked to our cad-cam facilities, we can off line program to ensure lean manufacturing and short delivery times.

CNC MILLING

With our state of the art CAD/CAM system linked directly to our CNC machines we can achieve lean manufacture and adopt a "right first time" policy.

Off line programming increases our delivery performance as "down time" is kept to a minimum.

CNC SHEET METAL

From general fabrication to complex hi-tech electronic enclosures and frameworks in stainless steel, coated steel and all non ferrous materials, we can find a solution for you.

All our machines are linked to the latest CAD/CAM software which has enabled us to move forward and become a leading player in a competitive sub-contract market, therefore providing a full "one stop" package.

With our highly skilled staff we can fabricate most products that you require. From complicated enclosures to simple frameworks we can cater for most items.
In a wide range of materials and with different welding techniques, CLE can offer solutions to your fabrication problems.

ASSEMBLY

CLE can provide a "one stop shop" when it comes to assembly.
