Company Description
Colombo Giovanni & Figli *****. was incorporated immediately after the Second World War in Abbadia Lariana as an individual concern. It became a general partnership (*****.) in later years with the entry of Mr Colombo's two sons. Production has gradually moved away from the manufacture of nuts to the production of tailor-made lathe-work components using increasingly sophisticated machinery. Over the last few years, the company has expanded considerably, not only in Italy but on foreign markets as
Colombo Giovanni & Figli *****.ll and has today reached an annual turnover of nine billion lire, about one third of which is exported. The company now produces medium- and large-scale series of components in steel or metal alloys to the customer's design using automatic multi-chuck Gildemeister lathes. These components are specially made for the automotive, electronics, hydraulics, metalworking and mechanical industries. Alongside the proprietors, the company now employs 25 persons, including 2 clerks in administration and 2 in the engineering department.
