Crystal Spring Minerals was born in February 2001 when CrystalSpring Minerals came up with the idea of trading local minerals in South Africa. The Orange river, or Gordonia pegmatite belt holds a wide variety of minerals but in very small quantities. This mean that large scale mining enterprises are very limited and mostly not economically viable. The pegmatites consists of mainly rare earth metals like; Tantalum, Beryl and Bismuth minerals. The quartz is ever present with accompanying feldspar, scroll and muscovite. Most of these pegmatite ridges are massive and don't bare crystals, the ones that did crystallize are rarely of outstanding quality and are mostly pale, milky white quartz crystals.

With the experience that we gained the last couple of years we can provide a handful of mineral products of outstanding quality that is sought after in the specimen trade as well as in bulk rough material

After starting to trade on Ebay, we decided to open our own website. The cost of listing items on ebay is relative high and people go to auctions to pick up bargains. This is good for both seller and buyer but has a huge disadvantage if one want to market top notch, high quality products. If we don't stock something from this part of the world, we will find it, or at least put you onto someone who can.
