Based in Bursa, Turkey druzy stones Tas Devri 'Stone Age' has been sourcing and supplying gemstones for over 30 years.
Our interest in gemstones began with finding certain stones whilst on a hunting party some 35 years ago. I was amazed by the beauty and variety of gemstones. This amazement led me to begin bringing home stones that I would stumble across whilst hiking through forests. It got to a stage that the house was full of stones and the time to think differently. It was time to open a store.
In a touristic part of Bursa the business was established with the stones I had collected. I also began selling gemstones of other dealers.
In the beginning the gemstones I supplied were raw in the natural form.
However demand showed that this was not enough so we bought cutting, polishing and tumbling machines to process the raw material and we began supplying cut and polished stones.
On my spare time I would continue prospecting. My aim was to find a stone which nobody else had found before. This quest took me to a small village called Ikizce in the province of Bilecik where I came across a unique green crystal. I ended up going back many times sourcing the formation and veins of the quarry. Finally I obtained the mining right to this most
magnificent stone on an area of 324 hectares.
