Company Description
Envirostone Concrete Pavers was started to help develop the infant permeable interlocking concrete pavement industry. PICP greatly reduce storm water runoff by filtering storm water through the permeable system itself. The system is comprised of a permeable
Envirostone Concrete Paveraring course which is permeable interlocking concrete pavers. These paver units are placed atop an open graded aggregate base. The thickness of the base may be modified to retain the desired flood event. A edge restraint system is added. Correct sized aggregate is forced into the paver joints. PICP do not clog as readily as porous or pervious concrete or porous or pervious asphalt because the storm water flows around the units through actual open graded aggregate, not through the paver itself. Porous and pervious concrete's mixture has a very close tolorance which even minor deviations from the exact mixture will result in premature clogged voids in the wearing course. Envirostone promotes the use of true Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavements, which, when installed properly, filter pollutants, reduce storm water runoff, minimize erosion of water ways, may reduce the heat island effect in urban areas, decrease temperatures of aquatic habitats, replinish ground water reserves, eliminate or reduce the size of detention ponds and other environmental benefits.
