Catalyst Resale - Eurecat offers regenerated hydrotreating catalysts for sale to refineries looking to reduce their catalyst costs. Our website contains comprehensive information about each lot of catalyst that we have available for sale. We also sell Albemarle STARS catalysts that have been rejuvenated with the REACT process. With REACT, the catalyst is guaranteed to have greater than 90% of its original activity when fresh.

Pre-Activation and Sulfiding - Hydrotreating catalysts are active once they are converted to the sulfide form. Typically the sulfiding step is performed in-situ after the catalyst is loaded. However, the sulfiding step can take many hours to several days to complete, consuming valuable production time and producing off-spec product that has to be reprocessed later or downgraded to lower valuve product. Eurecat has developed an ex-situ sulfiding and activation process called TOTSUCAT. With Totsucat treatment, a fully sulfided and active catalyst can be loaded in the reactor. No additional sulfiding steps or hazardous sulfur chemicals are required to activate the catalyst. Totsucat also eliminates exotherms, sour water make, and the potential damage H2S can cause to reforming catalysts downstream.

Regeneration - Off-site regeneration is a complex series of processes to remove the carbon and sulfur from spent hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalysts. Regenerated catalysts typically recover 80-90% of their original activity.
