"Fatimas Garde FAMILY OF PHARMACISTS AND BIOLOGISTS." We were born andraised in Agadir, a city in southwestern Morocco in the center ofargan trees forests. The four of us are graduates of the UniversitLibre De Bruxelles. Recently, we returned to our hometown toimprove the value of Argan oil in our region of Souss and promotelocal womens cooperatives that produce it. We achieve that bybringing back our scientific and technical expertise gained inEurope while enjoying a network of acquaintances that we and ourfamily have built here since centuries. Our goal is to become thereference in raw material sourcing by marketing Argan oil worldwidewith quality standards, ethics and professionalism thatinternational markets require today. we wanted to tackle three mainissues that are unfortunately still too widespread in Morocco : 1)Oil Quality : too many small cooperative produce the oil totallytraditionally, and ship oil without no controls or analysis. 2) Oilavailability and sustainability on the long term : after a dryyear, the argan trees dont give as many fruits as usual, so manycooperatives run quickly out of stock, or in the best casescenario, the argan oil price rises too much. 3) Scalability : manysmall cooperatives are good with small quantities, but as soon astheir clients business grows and asks for higher volumes, they failto satisfy the demand due to their limited production capacity. "WEARE MEMBERS OF THE LARGEST COOPERATIVE NETWORK IN THE COUNTRY" sothis is how we tackled each issue : Oil quality : We are fortunateenough to be in a family of scientists, pharmacists and biologistswith our own laboratories and pharmacy. So weve got the systematicoil analysis part covered. We make sure every batch produced ismeeting our high quality standards by conducting analysis at thelaboratories, but also at an independent government laboratory fromthe Ministry of Health and Food called lONSSA.
