The Forge Division

The product range from the Forge includes round bar, forged shafts and forged bushes in mild steel and alloys which are supplied to major distributors such as Trident Steel, Sovereign Steel and Ambro Steel. With a hundred years of continuous forging production, George Stott & Co is considered a leader in the field of heavy forged products.

The Metal Pressings Division

This division manufactures a wide variety of metal pressed components which are used in the mining, civil, poGeorge Stott and Company (PTY) Ltd.r, telecommunications and transport industries.

It is one of the largest metal pressing shops in the country and supplies customers such as Mines, M-Props, Telkom, Eskom, Transnet etc.

This division s advantage lies in its price competitiveness which is ensured by a long standing relationship with Mittal (Iscor) and Highveld over the last 30 years. A good track record of on time deliveries and a reputation for achieving a high quality pressing consistently has made this division a market leader.


Overhead Line Supplies (Pty) Ltd.

Overhead Line Supplies was acquired in 1991 and has grown to be a trusted supplier of a large range of overhead line hardware in the South African overhead line and OHTE markets. A wide range of products are manufactured by this division according to international and local Eskom, Telkom and Transnet standards.

The strategic acquisition of several competitors in this market sector, including Crescom Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd. in 2001, further enhanced the manufacturing capabilities of this division. It has also lead to the extensive development of export markets within the SADC and the East and West African power sectors. Overhead line components manufactured by this plant is now widely used and recognized from South Africa up to Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana.

Due the technical ability to manufacture a variety of products OLS has also become a leader in the supply of streetlight poles. The product range is large and includes swaged tubular and octagonal street lighting with a variety of mounting configurations.

South African and British standard Traffic Signal Poles are manufactured for municipal councils throughout Africa.

MM&G Mining and Engineering (Pty) Ltd. (Heavy Steel Fabricators)

MM&G is a reputable manufacturer with significant fabrication facilities and expertise available for quick and accurate production of large fabrication projects.

The company was established in 1973 and was initially sited at Brakpan. Due to steady growth, the company moved to its present location in Boksburg East.

George Stott & Co acquired ownership of the company in 2005 making MM&G Mining and Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd one of the few large fabrication businesses in the country with significant HDI ownership.

MM&G continually strives to improve its position as a premier steel fabricating and engineering company. It achieves this by consistently completing contracts on time and to high quality standards.

A vast and modern fabrication plant spans a floor area of 12 000 sq. meters under roof. The factory is furbished with the latest machinery as well as a highly skilled workforce of engineers, draftsmen, production planers and artisans. Due to a very low staff turnover the skills required for manufacturing large contracts accurately and providing delivery on time is second to none.

As with the other divisions of George Stott & Co, MM&G operates a comprehensive Quality and Safety Management System, in accordance with SABS 1200 H/HA/HC Structural Steelworks. In addition the Company has an established management process which is compliant with the code of practice stipulated in the ISO9001/2008 Management System.
