Company Description

The Giannakis Family is based in Greece and more specifically in east Peloponnese. The Giannakis Family owns several olive oil tree farms producing up to 100 tons per year of high quality extra virgin olive oil. The Giannakis family is very GIANNAKIS FAMILYll known in the area for the distinctive olive oil quality which comes from a specific "Manaki" Olive tree variety. The olive oil tree farms are located in a unique 200m above sea level locations naturally protected from frost in the winter and naturally protected from extreme heat in the summer. That makes the olive fruit to concentrate very low water content levels resulting in pure extra virgin Olive oil with very low acidity levels when cold pressed. When the olives reach the right maturity, Fotios Giannakis, the most senior & experience member of the family, gives the go ahead for the harvest. Whatever olives are harvested on the day then are cold pressed by the end of the evening. The olive oil then is stored in huge large tanks for several months before given out to wholesalers in bulk or before bottling. This is the process that Mr Fotios Giannakis prefers, cold pressed and naturally filtered through time. The Giannakis Family decided this year to accept pre orders from foreign buyers due to very favorable government incentives and support. Therefore the Giannakis family has allocated a specific volume to be exported for the 2010 harvest. Please note that the harvest will take place November 2010 and the olive oil takes roughly three months to naturally filtered. The delivery will take place around February 2011. For this initial offering, Giannakis family have allocated several 1 Littre bottles from 2009 harvest to send as a sample to anyone who is interested for the Giannakis Family olive oil.
