 The contracting and training of tobacco farmers from field to floor.

       (11)  The buying and selling of tobacco from auction floors to export

MISSION STATEMENT
To produce and supply good export quality aroma Virginia leaf from all farmers through a   developed and coordinated approach with efficient distribution and management system.
OBJECTIVES To carry on the business of growing tobacco, managing tobacco contract Schemes, auctioning and the buying, processing and exporting of tobacco in general. To carry on the business of supplying agro based chemicals and offering support and training services to farmers. Empowerment and wealth creation of tobacco farmers by supplying them with skills and tobacco inputs.  Increase the quality and capacity of tobacco production in the country. Export quality Virginia tobacco of the highest standard in the region. Raise foreign currency through exports. Improve general competitiveness of the tobacco sector. Maximise shareholders wealth. 
Golden Leaf Merchants (Private) Limited is a private limited liability company established in 2009. The company manages over 1 000 hectares of contracted tobacco crop in all tobacco growing regions of Zimbabwe.
 
Golden leaf Merchants has satellite offices in all the four tobacco growing provinces of Mashonaland West, Mash East, Mash Central and Manicaland. The company started operations in 2010 and the out grower scheme distributed inputs worth US$2 000 000 to 700 farmers. The company is represented throughout by its highly skilled agro field officers with many years of tobacco culture.
 
Golden Leaf Merchants has a solid production history of tobacco in Zimbabwe with its members carrying over sixty years experience in tobacco culture and production.
  The company currently contract and train farmers on how to produce good quality leaf beginning from the seed bed, transplanting, harvesting, curing and upto the tobacco auction and sales floor. We also supply tobacco agrochemicals and packaging materials. We buy tobacco leaf from both our contracted farmers and the auction floors for export.
