Hi-Tech Chemicals was founded in 1986, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, close to the largest steel plants in the country and the only major refractory plant in the vicinity of Tata Steel, UMIC, Adhunik Steel and Usha Martin etc. Mr. R. K. Agarwal heads the refractory business of the Hi-Tech Group. Its main product categories are: CCR/SGR/Purging Refractories Monolithics Pre-Cast Shapes & Darts Cast House Refractories for blast furnaces Nozzle Filling Compound & Casting Powders etc. Mag – Carbon Brick & Graphite Electrodes – China based. It has world class facilities for manufacturing Steel Plant Refractories initially in collaboration with Goricon Metallurgical Services, UK, and now with Liaoyang Carbon Co. Ltd., China. Additionally, HTC has tie-ups with Rivers Site for the Cast House Refractories and SSRC, USA, for purging refractories. Today it has 270 employees on its rolls.
