Juniper Ridge Opal Mine Juniper Ridge Opal mine owners and currently the only source of Oregon Fire Opal. Our opal is some of the best quality fire opal available anywhere! Our material is on display in the Smithsonian Museum and has been used by award winning carvers and faceters since we rediscovered the mine and put this material back on the market. The Juniper Ridge Opal mine is reknowned for producing large quantities of gem quaity, facet grade Fire Opal, and was featured on the Travel Channel. We produce a wide variety of material useful for producing "Tiffany" quality gemstones to prize winning carvings such as "Fire" & "Cheese" by Dalan Hargrave. Juniper Ridge opal is of superior quality and ranges in color from nearly clear to light yellow, every shade of orange, to deep blood reds or rasberry. Also found in our mine is a variety of opaque opal with colors from butterscoth to bright pinks. Our material ranges from exceptionally clear colors to totally opaque, with some mixtures of both and much of it can also be found with very attractive dendritic inclusions. Rough opal nodules or "eggs" of 1 to 5 pounds are routinely uncovered and nodules exceeding 10 pounds are not uncommon. Besides harvesting the material for our own use, we also have a huge inventory of material that has been sitting and drying in the Oregon air since 2005 and is available for quantity wholesale purchase. We also promote fee digging on scheduled dates for amateur or professional lapidaries, gem artists, jewelers, that wish to come and dig for their own finds.
