  Introduction
  
  The Korea Federation of Machinery Industry Cooperatives was established on May 30, 1962, with the approval of the Ministry of Trade and Industry for the purpose of contributing to the balanced development of the national economy. The federation aims at promoting the sound development of the nation's small- and medium-sized machinery industries as Korea Federation of Machinery Industry Cooperativesll as enhancing the welfare and interests of its members.
  The details are as follows
  First, the federation assists its members in gaining contracts with the government and other public organizations via the "arbitrary contract system" designed to help promote the interests of small-and Medium-sized machinery industries. The federation also carries out business deals on behalf of member companies that wat to market their paternt or newly developed technologies.
  Second, the federation performs cooperative purchases and sales. It seeks to extend cooperative purchase items as a way to help reduce the production costs of its member companies and to increase its own income. The federation also develops cooperative sales items in order to assist the sales of the member companies.
  Third, the federation participates in the B2B commerce. It performs basic research for promoting B2B commerce, selects B2B items and seeks cooperation from related organizations.
  Fourth, the federation promotes overseas business by dispatchng foreign market exploration teas and participating in veried exhibitions. In addition, it helps its member cope effectively with international trends and secure information-based management systems.
