The first of the Jelinek Cork Group (Korek Jelinek) was founded nearly 150 years ago in what is now the Czech Republic (Europe). For nearly the next one hundred years Korek Jelinek served Central and Eastern Europe with a full range of cork products and at the same time developed close and lasting relationship with the cork producing countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, the Jelinek Group invested heavily into a number of cork manufacturing plants in both Spain and Portugal and have continued to do so to this day.
