Company Description

Laurus Procuro LLC is the Trading Arm of Laurus Procuro LLC Parent company in India for marketing Baryte, Iron Ore, Red Oxide, Coal & Lime Stone in Middle East and North Africa Region. We are based in Dubai, UAE, the commercial hub of MENA region.

Essentially a mining company with a focus on Barytes, Red Oxide and Iron Ore ensured that we became the largest producer and exporter of white Paint grade Barytes and Red Oxide in India. Agents within the four regions of India serve the local market.

The company exported Oil drilling and chemical grade barytes till the early eighties. Furthermore, barytes was at one time supplied to Iraq prior to war.

The Grey Barytes mine at Gajalakonda is relatively new and is yet to reach its maximum capacity. Presently iron ore is being sold to China Steel & Trade Corporation and modified to the local steel mills.

BARYTES:

We provide our customers quality Barytes, natural form of barium sulphates with nodular particle structure in extra super snow white (ESSW) and off color (Brown/Grey). A fine free flowing powder it has low oil absorption and is insoluble in water. A strong crystalline structure, the high refractive index helps it to impart strength. It is extensively used in construction, chemical and floor coating and is highly recommended for floor coatings, water proofing compounds and sealants.

The Cuddapah base holds almost the entire known deposit of White barytes in India. The deposit occurs in the form of veins running from East to West.

The Company holds a number of Mining Leases in this area amounting to more than 850 acres containing almost all of the remaining available material for utilization.This produces the purest form of white barytes in the world. The baso4 content is about 96.5% to 98% and the brightness averages on a level of 96% to 98.5%Almost all the white Barytes deposits are underground. The Mined material is sorted, cleaned and graded at the Mine site before being transported to the factory at Cuddapah for further processing. The grades that are produced in powder forms;

Red oxide and iron ore

The Mines for broader classification is divided into various areas. The estimated deposit of Iron Ore is about 14 million tons and that of Red Oxide is 6.5 million tons which makes it one of the largest deposits of Natural Red Iron Oxide in the world.

The Red Oxide that is produced is graded by the shade and the Fe2o3 content. The principal grades produced are the

(1) Light shade
(2) Medium Shade
(3) Dark Shade.

A huge amount of Iron particles is generated in the process of Mining and standardizing the Iron Ore.

This mine alone employs about 200 people both directly and indirectly and it is largely responsible for maintaining the village economy around it. It is also a fully mechanical mine and the work force is required to hand sort the Red Oxide for transportation by ourselves.
