Company Description

LDV Sia has been established in 1992 and since 1993 is operating as Timber Exporters. Overall exported volumes in last 8 years have amounted to a total of more than 500 000 m3 of sawn timber. Turnover in 2012 has been exceeding 9.6 million euros (abt 12.5 million usd). First quarter of 2013 is suggesting further increase of turnover by about 5%.
Company employs 14 persons, has head office in Riga and branches in Liepaja (LDV SIAst Latvia) and Limbazi (North East Latvia) and is providing services to more than 100 sawmills in Latvia, Belarus and Russia.
Export markets are accounting main timber importing countries of EU with UK, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark taking the main share. Sales to North Africa, Middle East, Persian Gulf, Far East, South East Asia and India has been significantly developing over the last few years. Share of these markets has continuous increase trend. In 2012 overall sales reached almost 60 thousand m3 and about 65% (about 40 thousand m3, representing more than thousand 40 feet containers) has been shipped overseas outside Europe/UK.

Main products:

Unseasoned Pallet wood (about 70-80% of the current sales):

First grade Usual Baltic Mix of Species: hardwood (aspen/ alder/ birch), allowing softwood (spruce/ pine), if develops; cross cut to exact length as per customers requirements. Whilst softwood and hardwood packed separately, species are allowed to be mixed in the packs, in principle no blue stain and in principle square edged; no rot, no wormholes and no bark.
Upon request we are in position to offer Second grade palletwood, as well as Mixed grade: first grade allowing up to 30% Second grade mixed in the packs.
We are in position to offer unseasoned timbers to be Fumigated or Heat-treated 56/30 (as per ISPM 15) supported with properly recognized Heat Treatment or Fumigation Certificates.
All container deliveries are subject to Antistain Treatment with SinestoB all year round, including winter period.

Unseasoned sawfalling construction timbers:

Sawfalling (including in principle square edged Scandinavian 6th) grade in pine (redwood/ pinus silvestris) and/or spruce (whitewood/ picea abies), in principle no blue stain and in principle square edged, no rot, no wormholes and no bark. Packaged to length, stickered every raw with about 8-12 mm stickers, secured with the steel/plastic bands as required on about 75 mm bearers.
Usual length is imperial 2.4/3.0/3.6/4.8/6.0m. Other length can be considered on a case to case basis.
We are in position to offer unseasoned timbers to be Fumigated or Heat-treated 56/30 (as per ISPM 15) supported with properly recognized Heat Treatment or Fumigation Certificates.
All container deliveries of unseasoned materials are subject antistain treatment with Sinesto B all year round, including winter period.
Kiln dried and regularized/planed being sold exceptionally on a case by case basis and is representing relatively insignificant volumes.

Garden and Fencing products:

CCE green or brown treated, rough or planed; pointed, chamfered, etc.; sawn as well as machine rounded and cundy peeled; decking (including also different type of garden furnitures).
Decking (sawfalling including 6 th grade) being one of the few items regularly offered and sold as kiln dried and planed all round (S4S/PAR) to the standard profiles or buyers special profiles.

Hardwoods of furniture and joinery grades:

Birch, oak and ash unseasoned or kiln dried semi products for parquet, flooring and other purposes.
