Maldive Marine Products Private Limited is situated in Hulhumalé Island, close to Malé, the capital city of Republic of Maldives. The company has a fleet of fishing vessels (locally called &＃039;Dhoni&＃039;), all using the traditional &＃039;Hand line&＃039; method. Fishermen in contract with the company are given basic training for better handling of fish and they are also supplied with ample quantities of ice. Product quality checks such as Histamine (for histamine risk species), Ciguatera toxins (for Reef fish species) and factory hygiene checks are performed in the in-house laboratory. In addition, Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) conduct periodic factory check to evaluate Maldives Marine Product Pvt Ltd competency. The processing unit of the company is fully temperature controlled. Advanced Water Treatment Plant (Reverse Osmosis method) supplies drinking quality water for the whole unit. Water for processing and ice manufacture will be dozed with permitted levels (1ppm- as per EU regulations) of chlorine. In house laboratory examine Chlorine & pH level of water on a regular basis. All the technical/ factory staffs are recruited only after thorough medical examination by a medical officer and perform similar analysis once every year. The company strictly follows &＃039;Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitary Standards Operating Procedures (SSOP).
