The history of the Maliap  Plantation Group dates back to itshumble beginnings in 1985 when it first forged a joint venture withKoperasi Pembangunan Desa to develop Desa Talisai. Starting with amere 4,000 hectares of Desa Talisai estates, the area under oilpalm cultivation in Maliap  Plantation has increased overseven (7) folds to its present land-bank of approximately 30,000hectares in the Sandakan and Sugut region in Sarawak, Malaysia. TheGroup has also embarked into land expansion in Indonesia and ajoint-venture in India for oil palm cultivation.The Group owns andoperates eleven (11) oil palm, sunfloMaliap Plantatior, corn and soyabeansestates, complemented by eight (8) oil mills capable of processingover four million tonnes per year and a palm kernel crushing plant.The Group’s oil palm estates and the state-of-the-art processingmills consistently produce results above the industry's average.The Group's other complementary and downstream activities includethe trading of agrochemical and fertilisers, rice and wheat, Sugarrefining, agro-management and advisory services, PET productsmanufacturing, Production of Aluminum, Nickel, zinc and Tin ingots.Other business activities in the pipeline include biodieselproduction and bulking services.
