Founded in 1961 by Gonzalo O. Catan Jr. , a Filipino inventor who used indigenous materials for his own pesticide inventions, MAPECON has grown from a single-proprietorship entity to a multi-million peso company employing approximately 400 employees nationwide. A subsidiary corporation, MAPECON GREEN CHARCOAL PHILIPPINES INC. (MGCPI) , produces Activated Carbon and Green Charcoal-export-quality products produced from biodegradable waste.
