Nutricare came about as a result of an interest in "nutritional medicine" by pharmacist Mike Poland some 20 years ago. That interest was born due to personal reasons when it was recommended that he take glucosamine as a nutritional supplement to reduce his reliance on anti-inflammatories and analgesics for damaged joints due to previous injuries. Nutricare products support rather than compete with modern medicines. One thing led to another and slowly but surely his interest grew to the point where today it has become the major focus in his professional life. Of cNutriCarese, in the intervening years nutritional medicine has gone from being "fringe" to mainstream today. Whereas supplementation was discouraged 20 years- even 5 years ago, today it is acknowledged and encouraged by the orthodox medical and nutritional establishment. Naturopathic, nutritional and herbal medicine is now mainstream. Many doctors and other health professionals now use nutritional medicine as an everyday tool to improve the health status of their patients.
