Masu cup is originally a tool for measuring volume. It has been utilized as the peoples life standard in Japanese political, agricultural and business scenes.
Since the Japanese started farming. It has been used as a tool mainly for measuring peoples food: not only for fish, sake and oil but also for potatoes and fruits.
Oracles or the powerful persons who governed extended families, tribes had to standardize the size of Masu cup in order to direct farming, pay tax according to the total crops or cultivated acreage instead of protect arable land, and reserve for famine. They also had to keep its standard.

At the Masu cup studio Masuya, we sell various Masu cups from traditional Masu cups,unique Masu cups to the special Masu cups that are produced by our corporate attitude which never says No! to our customers.
