Pellets (wood fuel granules)-ecologically clean solid fuel forstoves and boilers, obtained by milling and drying the wasteproducts of woodworking industry and agriculture. Being of greatalternative to the traditional fuels, nowadays, wood pellets arebecoming highly competitive.Cylindrical granules are produced under high pressure of apellet-press without using any chemical binders.In accordance with the general classification, based on thedifference in wood pellet production, there are distinguished twotypes of wood pellets domestic wood pellets, used for heating ofprivate houses, and industrial pellets. First type is made fromclear wood or wood with minimal bark content (less than 0.5%); itis considered the product of superior quality with minimal ashcontent. Pellet stoves and boilers are used for heating of privatehomes and cottages at any time of a year. Up to 10% of the barkcontent are alloOOO GRAINWOODd in the production of industrial pellets.Industrial pellets are used in thermal plants of differentcapacity. Energy obtained by burning 1 ton of pellets is equal tothe energy received by burning of 480 cubic meters of gas, 500liters of diesel fuel or 700 liters of mazut.
