Company Description

LOCATION :RURAL BASE typical handicraft leather manufacturing unit. We have a very rural set up, located in Shantiniketan 200 kms from Calcutta, West Bengal from where we derived our company name "Ruralbase". Shantiniketan is the place from where this artistic leather form has originated.

FACTORY: We have a proper spaced out infrastructure to carry out our manufacturing process smoothly. Our items are laboriously hand crafted to produce world class products. We employ many crafts person both men and women with traditional craft skills in the handcrafted leather sector. Our aim is to create prosperity through empowering and providing livelihood opportunities for craft groups and marginalized communities living in our local area.

QUALITY CONTROL: We have total in house mechanism for inspection, packaging and despatch of goods. Products are inspected and quality checked at each interval of manufacturing process to avoid any rejection and deviation from approved sample in the finished product.

DESIGNING: Though this art form is a traditional process, we have developed and modified the products with our long 15 years experience in the manufacturing process. We are adept in implementing buyers colour schemes, patterns and shapes as per requirement.

PROCESS: The Leather is procured and cut into different shapes. The cut pieces of leather are cold embossed in a manually operated block machine using a Zinc design plate. The Zinc plates are pre designed using acid etching method with different patterns. For each design pattern a zinc plate has to be made. The embossed leather is then hand painted with the tip of a small folded cloth. It is then polished with a simple polishing machine. The leather pieces are then. stitched and finished into different products.

TESTING: All colours and raw material used are lead free. Our products are regularly tested in reputed labs such as Bureau Veritas and SGS. All products pass stringent prop 65 tests and are REACH compliant.

PRODUCTS: We offer a wide range of products in the small accessories segment. Our products include Tech accessories such as Kindle covers, Ipad covers, Mobile cases. Also we offer different size and shapes of wallets , clutch bags, pencil case, cosmetic case, lipstick case. We also offer varied sizes and shapes of coin purses. We can also make shapes as per buyer requirements and develop products within target price.

EXPORTS: We export upto 90% of our production .

ORDER FOLLOW UP: When orders are placed with our company, we send pre production samples for approval. Once approval is given by buyer we initiate the production and send inline production samples.Finally we ship the goods within the agreed time. We ensure timely delivery and keep buyer updated with all production developments.
We can also label and tag all items as per buyer requirements.

SHIPMENTS : All consignments can be shipped by Air or Sea as per buyers requirements. We ship all consignments in 180/ 200 gsm 7 ply master cartons using virgin paper. All items are sealed with adequate dessicant packets for safe shipment of goods.

SERVICES OFFERED: Buyer designs and shapes can be implemented. Buyer labelling and custom packing can be done for all products. Buyer logo can be incorporated in the products.

ABOUT THE ENTREPRENEUR : Mr. Jashojeet Ghosh and Mrs. Bidisha Ghosh are a husband and wife team who has taken up this creative art form to export the local handicrafts.
Mr.Jashojeet Ghosh is a management graduate with 15 years experience in developing and exporting handicrafts to top companies in the world.
Mrs. Bidisha Ghosh has completed her post graduate education in English. She has 10 years experience in the designing and liasioning with foreign buyers for product development and timely execution of export orders.
