SCS is Smooth Clean Surface - steel that has undergone a patented surface treatment that removes dirt, rust and mill scale, leaving a "white glove" clean surface that is remarkable smooth. Best yet, the surface is resistant to rust (so long as it doesn't come into direct contact with water) without the need for a protective coating of oil or other waterproof film.
