With the waves of globalization and opening, all industries are entering the ear of unlimited competition. Especially, Korea-US and Korea-China FTA currently under the process may bring fatal damage to Korean farming and furthermore to the tangerine industry which is the life industry of Jeju local economy, so it is a problem that we must overcome.

In such changes of environment, to advance Jeju farming, and particularly, to enhance the competitiveness of tangerine industry, it is the time to carry out not only environment friendly high quality tangerine production, but also high value added product development using tangerines, invarious directions.

Seogwipo-si Tangerine Oil Cluster Project Group is accelerating the development of cosmetics using Jeju tangerine oil first in the world.

We have already produced pilot product using 7types of Jeju tangerine oil in 2010, and we are planning to introduce 4 new products to the market this year, and we are also planning to not only export to East Asia such as Indonesia, Singapore, and China, but also to sell them in Jeju market and domestic market in full scale.

We, the project group will try our best to enhance the competitiveness of Jeju tangerines, to increase Jeju farming families' income and to vitalize the local economy.
