SHAHNAMEH Originated from the book by Ferdowsi entailing the epics of Kings and Queen. Title used to give a pictorial concept of Persian and Mughal era through carpets. Carpets being a symbol of art work encrypted with wool and human hands and luxury originated from Egypt which travelled to Turkey, Iran and India. The then emperors used to have their living areas furnished with carpets. The idea was put into operation in late 1970s; to set-up a name in the carpet industry of Pakistan and export, the major export for the cottage industry of Pakistan. With the passage of time; nearly four decades, the industry performed well and is now struggling. The primary reason is the higher price for the delicate human skill and the conventional products taking over its presence in the market.
