Company Description

SoftPixel Inc. (www.softpixel.co.kr) is a certified Korean venture company specialized in developing flexible information display using plastic film. The company was established in April 2000 with capital participation and support of Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), a governmental research institute.

The company has successfully developed plastic film displays, making itself one of the few pioneers in the world in this area of technology. The plastic film (PF) display is accepted as an ideal solution for the display needs of portable electronics, with its much superior properties such as flexibility, super-thinness, and light SoftPixel Inc.ight compared with the conventional displays using glass panels. The PF display can be widely applied to various information and telecommunication devices like smart cards, cellular phones, IMT-2000 terminal displays, e-Books, portable PCs, etc.

Since launching the business, SoftPixel has established strategic relationships with leading companies in the industry all over the world. The company was selected by Korean government for the Critical Component and Material Development Project in 2000. SoftPixel is particularly proud that it is playing an important role in development of the information telecommunication industry of Korea with its creative technology.

SoftPixel is currently running a pilot line in the Seongnam Industrial Park as its first step toward full-scale commercial production. Our production capacity is fast growing with impressive output ratio, ready for our first consumer product based on plastic film LCD, Virtual-i (LCD Shutter Glass for stereo 3D viewing) that is soon to be introduced to the market. Virtual-i, the first of its kind in the world, is believed to deliver a significant impact to the 3D market by its fashionable design, super light-weight, and superior electronic / optical characteristics.
