As a result of the increased foreign and domestic competition and ever-rising standards of quality, it has become necessary to make the most effective and productive use of the arable land and to grow high-quality products in long-lived fruit gardens that are economically efficient.
SS Serpil Nursery Production And Marketing Cooperative mission is to produce high-quality certified trees that meet the international standards and are free of diseases and pests. Our goal is to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Our vision is to lead the tree production sector and to establish a reputable name for our products in both domestic and foreign markets.
Organic farming is also an on-going project for our cooperative. Research and development efforts have been continuing to make organic production feasible. Within the next couple of years, our cooperative aims to reach beyond simply growing and inoculating trees and develop pure origin trees and achieve virus-free production through in-house serologic tests. To accomplish these goals, the cooperative has been in close collaboration with national and international research institutes, universities and private companies.
In addition to growing fruit trees, the village of Serpil also produces approximately 20, 000 tons of apple every year. Apples are stored in modern refrigerated buildings and are shipped to a large body of domestic and international customers.
Economically significant amounts of peach and cherry are also produced in the village. Furthermore, village cooperatives have also been effective in mushroom production by ensuring quality and consistency.
